Chapter
Eleven
The Lord has created a new thing in the earth. A
woman encompasses a man.
Jeremiah 31:22
I Am Abraham
While in Israel, I found myself in Hebron. I had never, ever
heard of Hebron and I had never consciously known of Abraham. I
had no idea of any Biblical connection. On the way to Hebron, in
Bethlehem, I bought my first Bible.
A Moslem family
took me in, and brought me to a place of ruins, of walls once begun,
abandoned, and broken down. Again I prayed, “I will to will
Thy will. Lord, I know You have a reason for me to be here. You
will show it to me, Lord. I will to will Thy will. I am obedient.
Lord, I love you with my whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Lord,
I will to will Thy will.” As I prayed, my feet carried me
around the ruins. Then I stepped up and walked around the wall,
the broken walls of the ruins. Round and round I went. Round and
round. “I will to will Thy will. You will show me Your purpose,
my Lord.”
Suddenly I jumped
off of the wall into the inner area, the area encompassed by the
walls. There was a small cave-like indention in the ground and I
was drawn to go into this dark, small area. As I crouched down in
this place still praying, “I will to will Thy will,”
I sensed a light and heard the words, “Be still.” I
was quiet. Then, my own voice repeated the words, “I am Abraham.
I am Abraham. I am Abraham.” I had no idea what this meant.
My prayer continued, “Lord, I will to will Thy will. You will
show me, Lord, according to thy will.” I came out of the cave,
climbed back over the wall, and returned to my friends.
