Inside I am like bottled-up wine,
like new wineskins ready to burst.

Oh Lordy, I’m Ready for Anything!

Escaped the butcher’s knife. So began my life.
A snowy morn in May, It was Mother’s Day.

Oh Lordy, I’m ready for anything.

I was sweet and good in my childhood.
Didn’t hurt no one, but I sure had fun!

Oh Lordy, I’m ready for anything.

Then I fell in love. Thought, “He’s from above.”
So in love with him, don’t see eyes so dim.

Oh Lordy, I thought I was ready for anything!

He hurt me so, then wouldn’t let me go.
So I ran away. Now all I can say is

Oh Lordy, I’m ready for anything.

Now I found the Lord. I’ll never be bored.
He’s so good to me. Now my spirit’s free.

Oh Lordy, I’m ready for anything.

He sent me to you to show you how to be true.
So just come along. We’ll sing a new song.
